Who we are

A Little Bit About P.I.L.O.T Services

Here at P.I.L.O.T. Services, we’re committed to investing our expertise and resources in order to further achieve our cause. Founded in 1992, by Mr. William Morgan, P.I.L.O.T. Services has built a reputation for being an exceptionally caring and embracing service provider. The staff here at P.I.L.O.T is comprised of highly qualified professionals who have always made major contributions to assist developmentally disabled individuals seeking independent lives in the community of their choice. The current Management Team continues to promote and ensure the goals are achieved in the fulfillment of the P.I.L.O.T. Services motto, “Together We Can Achieve The Extraordinary.” Those words serve as the foundation of our programs and staff performance and our commitment to the community.

Personalized Independent Living Opportunities and Training Services (P.I.L.O.T.) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) agency opened its first residential group home in Cherry Hill, NJ, October of 1993. In the spring of 2005, the Atlantic County Egg Harbor Day Program was opened followed by the opening of the Blackwood Day Program in fall of 2015. The Berlin Day Program was opened in January, 2020.

 

Our Team

Allen Samuels Executive Director

Allen is a graduate of Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania (BA-Psychology). Allen has been
supporting individuals with Intellectual Disabilities since 1985.  Over this time, Allen has worked in many
different capacities, from Direct Support Professional, Job Coach, Coordinator, Director, Vice President,
Chief Operations Officer and now Executive Director for P.I.L.O.T. Services.  As the Executive Director for
P.I.L.O.T. Services, an enhanced focus on Changing the Way We Care is being established while building
a company culture that supports the purpose behind the P.I.L.O.T. Services organization.

Kathy Ayala Chief Financial Officer and Director of Administration

Kathy is a graduate of Penn State University (BA – Political Science with a business minor) and
Philadelphia University (BS in Accounting).  She also has her MBA from La Salle University. 
Kathy has almost 40 years of Accounting and Human Resources experience with over a decade
of non-profit experience.  As the contracted CFO Kathy has been responsible for refining
accounting and human resource policies, applying for grants, creating projections and ensuring
P.I.L.O.T. Services has a strong financial future.

Melanie Rivera Chief Operating Officer

Melanie is a graduate of Rutgers University with a Master’s Degree in Administrative Social Work and
Stockton University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology.   Melanie comes to P.I.L.O.T. Services with an
array of experiences from children to adults.  Melanie is our Chief Operations Officer and oversees our
residential and day programs.  As the C.O.O., Melanie is establishing that the mission of P.I.L.O.T.
Services is carried out and becomes the path to changing the way we care.

Judith Wright Director of Residential Services

Judith graduated from Rowan College of SJ. Having been in this field since 2007, Judith brings a
wealth of knowledge to her new Director position. Judith began her career working with
adolescents, often in a residential setting. She also has experience working with adults with
severe behavior issues and has been a DSP in both residential and day programs. Judith’s hard
work and dedication has earned her several promotions during her time at P.I.L.O.T. Services.
She sets an amazing example for her staff of the type of care we strive to provide our
individuals.

Lisa Daly Human Resources Manager

Lisa Daly is P.I.L.O.T.’s Human Resources Manager.  She has been with the P.I.L.O.T.
organization for 28 years.  She has gained a wealth of knowledge during this time that she now
uses to guide management and staff concerning HR issues.  Over the years Lisa has spent time
with many of the individuals we service and feels like they are her family.  Lisa is currently working on implementing an on-line Human Resources Information System (HRIS) that will better service our current, past and prospective employees.
